SHPE Region 6 – Noche de Ciencias at Pike High in Indianapolis, IN

Region 6 Leadership Team hosted a SHPE Noche De Ciencias at PikeHighSchool on Friday, Sept 14th 2018. The pictures only show a fraction of the attendees. Everyone, adults, students, and parents said they were inspired after the program ended. We were astonished with great support and sponsored by three SHPE IPC Members Corteva, Raytheon and Cummins Inc. Also, our community partners came to support the program: University of Indianapolis, Indiana IUPUI, IDEAA FIRST FRC1018 and Purdue University. Our very own SHPEFamilia from outside the state and local SHPEIUPUI SHPEMorton and SHPEIllinoisInstituteofTechnology and our own Region 6 Student Representative Ana Rivero Valles, who all drove hours to the event, too, to support us!

We had Financial Aid/Scholarships Workshop for the Parents, While, the students participated in SPEED NETWORKING with Mentors (College Students and Professionals) Students built #Drones! We had door prizes for both parents and students! All possible again with the full support of the people mentioned above.Thankful for the tireless efforts of the planning committee Ligia Matousek, Erin Naylor (STEM Specialist) and Dr. Carmen Paniagua (Region 6 Junior Representative)
